Forged note detector MD1982(Reference #01724) OEM ref MD1982. UV & white light detector. A genuine banknote should not fluoresce right across the note. Some foreign banknotes including the Scottish as well as the new £10 & £20 notes have fluorescent markings hidden in the note so only the design should fluoresce when passed under the U.V. light. The white light will check the metal strip and the watermarks are genuine. As a side benefit this detector will also check most major debit and credit cards are genuine and not clones by checking the fluorescent designs imprinted into the cards.
